Looking for the ‘perfect, classic, always-a-winner, go-to’ Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe? This is our family favorite. Crisp, yet chewy…always delicious, never last long enough…Chocolate Chip Cookies…nom nom nom. Gather up your ingredients and let’s make up a batch (or 2…or 3 … the dough freezes wonderfully)!
- 3 Sticks (1 1/2 C) Butter (softened)
- 2 Eggs
- 1 1/4 C Brown Sugar
- 3/4 C White Sugar
- 1 TB Vanilla
- 2 t. Baking Soda
- tiny pinch of sea salt
Mix together and then add in :
- 3 3/4 C Flour
- 1-2 C Chocolate Chips (depending on your preference, I like just 1 cup–but the rest of the family likes the full 2 cups!)
I like to roll my dough into small balls and flatten on the cookie sheet, or use a 1″ cookie scoop for uniformity. Yeah, I know. My children have informed me of the error of my ways. I am pretty sure a scoop of a larger diameter, however, would be acceptable. Bake @ 350 degrees for approximately 8 minutes –watch your first batch, ovens can vary. Remove and set on wire racks to cool.
These don’t last long, so I usually double the recipe and divide into batches, in freezer bags. I tend to form the dough into logs, so after a little thaw time, I can slice cookies right off the log in perfect little cookie shape. Another great way to store is to flash freeze! Just roll your dough into your preferred cookie sized little balls, place on a cookie sheet and freeze for 1 hour; place into a zipper type freezer bag and store in the freezer. Makes for super easy cookies, whether you want one…or a ton.
This is the quintessential chocolate chip cookie recipe!
