It just doesn’t get any more simple or delicious OR FUN! Chocolate Peanut Butter Frogs…for Passover!
All you need to pull these off is a bag of chocolate chips (I love milk chocolate–but use your favorite!), some peanut butter and a mold or muffin tin. Melt your chocolate chips in a double boiler.
I use a small rubber spatula type spoon to spread the first layer of melted chocolate around my mold or muffin tin. I use this frog mold–it works great, and I’ve used it for years. This goes really quick, then pop them in the freezer for 10 minutes.
Take them out and spoon in the desired amount of peanut butter to suit your sweet tooth or your mold, whichever you prefer 😉
I then top the peanut butter with another spoonful of melted chocolate and spread evenly over the peanut butter. (If you’ll notice we used ‘natural’ peanut butter on the 2 frogs closest to the spatula and ‘Jif’ on the other 2 frogs. Jif gives a better finished product, but the natural, we think, tastes better. Go figure.) Return to freezer until firm.
These make a fun, unique Passover dessert — or Shabbat dessert during the early Exodus parshas, if your family does special desserts, this would be a fun one!
