At our homestead, we love to do things from scratch. DIY, homemade, handcrafted….count me in! I also love (and totally embrace!) all the modern conveniences we have available to us that make our ‘scratch’ lifestyle a lot easier!
One of my favorite tools? My BOSCH. It is a tireless workhorse of a machine; which is fantastic, because it is called into service…daily.
My BOSCH is primarily used for baking bread, however in it’s almost decade of service—it’s become my favorite ‘go to’ kitchen helper! In addition to daily batches of breads and baked goods, my BOSCH is a salsa maker, iced coffee creator, butter churn, cheese grater, meat grinder and sooo much more.
I can’t imagine the huge amounts of time I’ve saved over the years using my BOSCH for daily kitchen tasks, but also the money! Each fall, when we are blessed with a deer for the freezer– we make up our own venison burger with the meat grinder attachment. A couple times a week I get all the cream we’ve collected from our jersey milk cow and use the blender to churn butter– in minutes! Chopping veggies for canning homemade soups in the food processor takes seconds. Grating 2 lb blocks of cheese for the upcoming weeks meal prep—voila! I also love to cook up big batches of chicken breast and shred it up in my BOSCH (again, in a couple minutes!) and make chicken enchiladas, taquitos, chicken salad, chicken pot pies—the list here is endless! The huge bowl on the BOSCH lends itself to my ‘bulk cooking’ style, multiple loaves of bread, triple batches of cookie dough and the motor just won’t quit. You just don’t find machines like this anymore! It is the most used (and loved) machine in my homestead kitchen.
Could I do without my BOSCH? I could. I just wouldn’t want to. 🙂
