The weeks just keep flying by and last week was no exception….here are some snapshots of our days…
The last week has been full of candles, website ‘stuff’ and helping the children with their projects/research for their Persia Unit Study with their homeschool group. The girls presented their projects/reports this week– they chose Persian Literature and Persian Architecture– they did VERY well, they only needed my help navigating the internet a bit and I helped the older with a ‘throne’ for her model–just cause it looked like fun. lol The oldest did a model of Persepolis and the younger who did Persian Lit. did a salt dough tablet in Cuneiform (did I spell that right!?!) of a Perisan “Proverb” of sorts, I believe it was “Doubt is the beginning of knowledge”. Great job girls!
They also participated with the Purim play with our congregation, and worked on costumes this week–and the oldest playing an Egyptian young lady vying for Queen Vashti’s spot–decided to dress up little brother for entertainment. He doesn’t look so impressed.
As I mentioned, we were blessed with a large candle order! Here is a batch of Frankicense & Myrrh beeswax tapers candles– the schouse smelled SO lovely! These are just waiting for their final dip in beeswax and for wicks to be trimmed and packaged:
In between all that, the ol’ man laid down part of what will be new floors in the kitchen and redid most of the walls in natural pine–it’s gorgeous–he did a beautiful job– I think he’s pondering finishing the kitchen up today and going to a farm up the road that has some 6 month old roosters they want to get rid of– after the racoon incident of Spring 2010 and we lost 11 of our 26 chickens (all our roosters!) we need to get a new rooster or 2. 🙂
I got some canning done– I canned chicken breast which turned out great! I’ll show you how to do that in another post, later this week…
Well, I best get at it– another week is at hand and I have a turkey carcass and drippings calling me to make it into soup, a list a mile long and a little boy who wants Mama to go with him to the kitchen to make Cocoa. 🙂
Hope your week is full of blessings!
